My name is Sheetal and I am a respiratory and sleep physician at Lung and Sleep. I have experience in managing a broad range of breathing and sleep disorders. I have a special interest in interstitial lung diseases such as pulmonary fibrosis, airways diseases such as asthma and COPD and sleep problems such as sleep apnoea and daytime sleepiness.
Breathing is essential for life and helping patients restore this function is one of the most rewarding parts of my job. I have a patient centred approach and believe in taking the time to get to know people in order to provide the best comprehensive care. I am passionate about respiratory and sleep medicine and have been involved in clinical research and published a number of research papers.
I completed my training through Monash and Western Health and I continue to hold a public appointment at Monash Health. I am an active member of a number of professional societies including the Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand (TSANZ) and Australasian Sleep Association (ASA), to continue to further my knowledge and skills and ensure that I provide the most up to date treatments for my patients.
Apart from medicine, I love spending time with my husband, Shiran, and puppy Bentley. I also enjoy baking, reading and travelling.
